MEET THE 2023 PAD SHOWCASE COHORT: ARTISTS ON THE RISE & READY TO TOUR INTERNATIONALLY
Western Arts Alliance (WAA) — the West’s membership association for touring and performing arts professionals — has announced the 25 artists/ensembles accepted into the 2023 cycle of their Performing Arts Discovery (PAD) Showcase program.
The cohort, selected by panel review process, is made up of 25 talented artists and ensembles coming from eleven U.S. states and representing a range of disciplines and genres. Each artist/ensemble will receive expert support to create a professionally produced virtual showcase video that will be shared with international audiences, and to aid their own promotional strategies. Production will begin this month, and the showcases will be launched on the virtual PAD Showcase platform later this year.
The Performing Arts Discovery (PAD) program — funded by the NEA and the International Trade Administration's Market Development Cooperator Program — aims to expand international markets and generate overseas touring opportunities for U.S. performing artists through its two initiatives: PAD Showcase and PAD X.
