I’m excited to announce that after our meeting at WOMEX this past October in A Coruña in Spain, I have signed with Walter Laurer at Georg Leitner Productions GmbH (GLP) for international bookings, joining a roster of artists that runs the gamut from Youssou N’Dour, Tomatito, Roy Ayers, Ruben Blades and Stanley Jordan to Bootsy Collins, Chaka Khan and Missy Elliott to… Shaggy?
Inspired by our quintet debut in Abu Dhabi last month, our mutual goal with Walter and GLP is to bring the music to an ever wider international audience in different instrumental combinations ranging from 5-piece to 9-piece exploring the compositions in new ways. After so many years of running everything as a one-man operation, I can’t begin to say how gratifying this feels, and how relieved I am. More than anything, for me this is an affirmation that hard work and playing the long game - honestly - really can begin to pay off eventually.
That said, there is plenty more work to do. As I begin to concentrate on composing the next album and continue my artistic research journey, watch this space for concert updates.
